This bobble baby blanket is a beginner to intermediate level crochet pattern, and is suitable for those just starting out with crochet and looking to extend their stitch practise, or for experienced crocheters wanting an easy project.
The beauty of this pattern is that you can use any weight of yarn and you can make the blanket as large or as small as you like and decide how you would like to space your bobbles. Check out my Instagram highlights for how you can do this.
This pattern makes a blanket approximately 55cm wide by 75cm long. I used a wool that is no longer available for this pattern (sorry!), I used a 10mm hook even though the suggested hook size is 12-15mm because I wanted tighter stitches.
You could use;
- Martta The Merino 100g from edie & co
- Martta The Merino 200g from edie & co
- Moda Vera Wonder Wool 100g from Spotlight
- Abbey Road Born To Be Wool 100g from Spotlight
- Crucci Rhythm 100g from Knitworld
I have made a smaller blanket (perfect for the capsule using Moda Vera Mawson 50g from Spotlight. A chunkier yarn with a bigger hook will make a larger blanket, a finer yarn with a smaller hook will make a smaller blanket.
There are resizing details at the end of the pattern – this pattern would make a great cot blanket or throw, whether in a chunky or fine style.
